Enable I2C with raspi-config and reboot
Check if the sensor is connected:
i2cdetect -y 1
The output should look like this:

Our HTU21D device is detected as the number 40 in the line 40, so the address is 0X40.

Run the script:

If you connect the ground wire to the wrong Rpi pin, you’ll get this error:
IOError: [Errno 5] Input/output error
Thanks Adminck. Been looking for a pure Python script to read this sensor all day but could only get a C prog to work.

This is exactly what I’m looking for my code to do, however my raspberry pi is detecting multiple inputs from I2c and I don’t know how to be sure which one it is/how to alter the code to fir that

just a note: the file is named after another sensor i am using, i am not mixing up code
Just rename the file then.
